Role Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Volunteer Frontend Developer to join our team and help shape the user-facing experience of RISE2GETHER’s digital platforms. In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to build responsive, accessible, and visually engaging interfaces for both our community and internal teams. Your work will bring ideas to life, from prototyping new tools to refining existing experiences, and ensure that our digital touchpoints are intuitive, performant, and inspiring. By contributing your skills, you’ll help empower Asian women through technology, design, and meaningful connection.

Responsibilities

As a Volunteer Frontend Developer, you will:

  • Design and develop frontend experiences for both external users (content management platform and corresponding UX/UI improvements) and internal teams (dashboards and workflow automation tools).

  • Rapidly prototype new products to identify and validate product–market fit.

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following modern frontend best practices.

  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility and optimize for performance and accessibility.

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who bring most of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, React and Node.

  • Experienced in building scalable, cloud-based web applications and single-page applications. 4.Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with backend services.

  • Fluency in Git for version control and collaboration within a team.

  • Self-directed, with the ability to take ownership of projects while collaborating closely across teams.
