Topic Overview
Many of us, especially first-generation Asian women in the workplace, were taught that success comes from being technically strong and academically excellent. We work hard to build expertise, achieve strong results, and become reliable contributors.
However, after entering the workplace, many people realize that technical ability alone is often not enough to truly thrive and advance. Over time, we begin to see that communication plays a critical role in how our ideas, contributions, and leadership are perceived. No matter how strong our knowledge or technical skills may be, impact is only created when those ideas can be communicated clearly, effectively, and confidently.
